Yorkshire Windows expands as home improvement boom continues
LEADING South Yorkshire double glazing company Yorkshire Windows is expanding its workforce to the meet the demands of the boom in home improvements.
Managing director Ian Chester says that the continued uncertainty over Covid-19 travel regulations has seen many people choosing to invest their holiday cash in the home.
And with a full order book already in place for several months to come, he is now employing extra fitting teams.
“Throughout the winter lockdown, our level of enquiries remained high and that has continued through the spring,” Ian said.
“Travel remains a difficult area even as lockdown restrictions begin to ease and one of the results of that is that we are seeing a continuation of interest in home improvement.
“With more orders coming in all the time, we have no choice but to grow our workforce and having taken on an extra fitting team already, we are actively looking for extra experienced teams to join us.
“This level of demand is creating a real skills shortage across the industry - there’s an unprecedented need for experienced fitters across the country.
“But there is work to be done and I am confident that there is the experience needed to maintain our high standards of workmanship.
“At the same time we are also looking to extend our marketing team, with a vacancy for somebody at graduate entry level who will be able to assist with the development of the Yorkshire Windows brand and generate new enquiries, especially as we look forward to the launch of our new head office showroom.”
