Newcastle law firm boosts staff number with "major" recruitment drive

A North East law firm has announced that it has boosted its staff numbers as part of a “major” recruitment drive following a period of growth.

Aberdein Considine, based in Newcastle’s city centre, has created 17 new jobs after securing several new clients across last year, including UK retail banks.

The law firm, which launched in 2016, focuses on providing specialist legal services to the financial services sector.

The company said that the new jobs reflect “significant growth” in the services it provides, and expects to expand further throughout this year.

Thomas Lillie, UK head of legal, lender services, commented: “Despite the business challenges which the pandemic has presented, we are very optimistic about the future and we were delighted to secure a number of new clients over the last few months.

“This has substantially increased the volume of complex work we are undertaking and as a result it meant that we needed to increase our staff numbers.

“We’re extremely fortunate to have a very skilled local workforce and this will stand us in good stead as we continue to expand.”
