"Most well-mannered coffee in London" reveals plans to open two new stores this summer
A London coffee house chain has announced that it is opening two new venues in the city this summer.
The Gentlemen Baristas, which has opened eight sites since launching in 2014, has revealed plans for a new flagship store in Piccadilly, as well as a new site in Mayfair.
The new flagship coffee house will span 1800 sq ft, with 56 seat covers, and will feature the company’s first ever Brew Bar - a private space to host speciality tastings and informal classes.
The Mayfair venue, opening in July on Bruton Place, will have 20 covers, 12 inside and eight outside, with an open kitchen serving sandwiches and brunch 7 days a week.
Henry Ayers, co-founder, said: “Although it’s been a challenging year, we had a chance to simplify everything; defining our values and what it means to be the most well-mannered coffee in London; getting to know our communities and supporting our team.”
Ed Parkes, co-founder, added: “We pay homage to London and the London Coffee scene. What better way to do that than such a prominent space in the heart of the West End.
“It opens a whole new set of communities to us. We’re not arrogant enough to say we’re a British institution but we want the brand to exist in 100 years, it’s where we want to be.
“The new roastery will be the epitome of the Gentlemen Baristas Coffee experience which will be a place for people to come and see what we do - for novices and aficionados.”
