Cocktail bar owner reveals summer launch plans for new London venue

The founder of a London cocktail bar has announced that a new venue will be opening next month.

The Duchess of Dalston, which comes from the founder of Callooh Callay, will be opening in early July on Kingsland Road.

The cocktail bar and brunch spot aims to promote equality and well-being through in-house training programs, social media, brand activations and events.

The Duchess of Dalston is named after the antagonist to the Queen of Hearts in Lewis Carroll’s ‘Alice in Wonderland’ and will have capacity for up to 70 covers indoors.

The company, created by Richard Wynne, said that it has “created a showstopping bar menu, including signature drinks infused with home grown herbs from the venue’s flat roof as well as locally sourced ingredients from Ridley Road Market, honey from Bermondsey Street Bees and a local favourite Vietnamese Coffee blend.”

Richard Wynne said: “In creating The Duchess of Dalston, we’ve embraced the resources and the history of the Dalston area itself, whilst also bringing our own touch of personality and experience into the drinks menu.

“The result is a neighbourhood cocktail bar full of culture that perfectly complements the surrounding area and provides a welcome and friendly atmosphere where everyone is welcome.”
