Yorkshire care provider unveils new "state-of-the-art" £5m home in Bradford
A South Yorkshire nursing care provider has announced that it has officially opened its £5m “state-of-the-art” care home in Bradford.
Exemplar Health Care, based in Rotherham, will support 40 adults at the new complex needs care home, called Wykewood.
Wykewood will specialise in supporting adults with complex mental health needs, neuro-disabilities, brain injuries, spinal injuries, Huntington’s disease and complex dementia.
As well as four ten-bed units, Wykewood has communal dining and living spaces, a cafe, therapy room, sensory room, salon and garden.
The home is the company’s first in Bradford, supporting 150 jobs in the area.
Sharon Burton, the company’s commissioning home director, said: “I’m thrilled to have opened Exemplar Health Care’s first home in Bradford.
“This community-based home will provide person-centered care and rehabilitation that focuses on maximising independence, building everyday living skills, and empowering people to live as fulfilled lives as possible.
“It is extremely rewarding to be able to support 40 local people with complex health needs, and to provide over 150 stable and local jobs for those wanting to progress their careers.”
