Leeds firm wins five-figure contract on multi-million pound colliery transformation

A Leeds engineering firm has won a contract at a new multi-million pound industrial centre on the site of a former North Yorkshire coal mine.

RWO has secured a six-figure contract to support the development of a 141-acre Konect rail-connected manufacturing and logistics hub at the former Kellingley Colliery.

The deal will see RWO partner with Wakefield company Peter Duffy Ltd to design the proposed site access and junction improvements, as well as developing plans for a new internal site access road, including drainage and offsite works to improve the control and storage of surface water.

RWO, which recently took additional workspace at its Leeds office, more than doubling office capacity to meet increasing demand for its services, currently employs 22 people and is targeting revenues in excess of £2m in the next 12 months.
