London ethical accessories retailer raises £250k funding for growth
A London ethical accessories retailer has announced that it has raised £250k of funding as it aims to expand the support it offers to women in poverty.
So Just Shop, founded in 2015, sells ethical and sustainable jewellery, accessories and homeware made by female artisans, and has raised £250k on valuation of £2.25m funding.
The additional funding was received from investors including Deep Shah, co-president of Francisco Partners, and Zeina Bain, managing director at ICG.
The funds will be used to boost the brand’s growth, with proceeds being used to help women in poverty across the world.
Jennifer Georgeson, co-founder, commented: “This investment helps us continue our incredible growth, working with more women, to provide more hours of meaningful labour and more opportunities for people to buy sustainable, ethical products at an affordable price.
“We’re delighted that investors are recognising and supporting what the future of fashion looks like and supporting the phenomenal impact SO JUST SHOP has.”
Jeannie Shapiro, social media marketeer and serial investor, said: “Investing in So Just Shop was an easy financial decision to make.
“I came on-board very early in the first round of investing – I believed in their mission, the brand and very much in Jen, the CEO and founder.
“Watching how things have grown I’m pleased so far I’ve been proven right. SO JUST SHOP’s message that they are an impact business and not a charity resonates with me. It is a very good business with ‘ethical’ and ‘sustainable’ at the heart of it.”
