Food delivery startup to accept cryptocurrency with new blockchain partnership
A London-based food delivery startup will be one of the first in the UK to accept cryptocurrency with a new partnership.
Recipe box service On The Table has announced a new partnership with digital payment blockchain platform Utrust.
Founded by KERB alumni Josh Paterson, Lucy Mee (Bill or Beak, Ink) along with Cristiano Meneghini (Tongue ’n Cheek) and Yuki Maruko (YuKyu). On The Table specialises in sourcing and delivering ingredients from independent and ethically-minded producers and farmers to customers.
As part of the new partnership, On The Table - which launched earlier this year - will accept cryptocurrencies alongside traditional payment methods.
Josh Paterson commented: “When I was 13, using the internet with a dial-up phone line, I couldn’t imagine a world where I’d be standing the street ordering an Uber with a smartphone to pick me up within minutes, before using ApplePay to order a Deliveroo to greet me with open arms when I got home.
“Again we find ourselves entering a new frontier where the rules have yet to be written, and I am so excited that On The Table is a leading the force in this digital revolution and will hopefully play a part within the fintech and food mash-up as a way to improve the world we live in for future generations.”
