Work starts on 150-home CALA development in Great Bentley, Essex
CALA Homes North Home Counties has announced further details surrounding its 150-home Essex development in the village of Great Bentley, as work gets underway on the new neighbourhood.
The housebuilder’s homes at Ufford Chase will be situated in a sought-after village location - less than 500m from Great Bentley’s train station and just seven miles to the East of Colchester.
The development offers easy access to both larger commuter towns and picturesque seaside towns along the county’s scenic Sunshine Coast, including Walton-on-the-Naze, Clacton-on-Sea and Frinton-on-Sea.
CALA’s selection of 2-bed bungalows and 3, 4 and 5-bed homes will suit homebuyers across all walks of life, whether first time buyers, growing families, or downsizers.
With planning approvals complete on the first phase of the development, the initial 25 homes will consist of 3, 4 and 5 bedroom homes, with the remaining homes in the second phase subject to subsequent Secretary of State TWAO approval and subsequent closure of the foot crossing of the railway.
Prices for a 3-bedroom semi-detached property in phase one will start from £350,000, with the first homes ready to move into from early 2022.
Forming part of CALA’s Light & Space Collection, the homes’ design elements offer an abundance of space - ranging in size from 962 up to 1,694 sq. ft - each focusing on attention to detail and a quality specification as standard throughout; with airy interiors offering plenty of room to enjoy.
Glenn Copper, Sales & Marketing Director for CALA Homes North Home Counties, said: “Great Bentley is an excellent location for people looking for that perfect mix of both town and country.
“As well as laying claim to the UK’s second largest village green, the area’s residents are well served with an abundance of local amenities close by, which includes an outstanding primary school, independent shops, a pub, café, restaurant and Post Office. In the heart of the village, Ufford Chase also boasts easy access to some of the country’s most picturesque seascapes on its doorstep, along Essex’s ‘Sunshine Coast’.
“We will be launching two four-bedroom showhomes on the site; The Nessvale and The Kinfield in Autumn 2021, with both properties coming equipped with spacious sitting rooms, utility rooms, and adaptable open-plan kitchen/dining spaces, with French doors to the rear, leading out into their gardens.
“We’re really excited to have started work on the site and can’t wait to show people around our showhomes, so they can see the quality for themselves.”
Glenn continued: “We’re also offering a range of support to help people move, for homebuyers at all stages on the property ladder - with tailored incentives such as Help to Buy, Assisted Move and Part Exchange available to purchasers.
“The close proximity to the train station makes Ufford Chase extremely appealing for both locals and those venturing out further from the Capital. With the commute into London taking just over an hour, it would be an ideal location for those with flexible working arrangements; with some days spent in the office and some at home.
“The homes are perfectly suited for this flexibility; to accommodate the trend of home-working – whether that’s a dedicated study in larger properties, or an adaptable spare bedroom.”
He concluded: “For this reason, we’re expecting the development to be exceptionally popular. As a result, we would encourage anyone considering a move to contact our expert sales consultants and register their interest, to avoid disappointment.”
