Building futures together: Local housebuilder celebrates the success of its Apprenticeship Scheme
Barratt Developments Yorkshire West, which includes the Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes brands, is celebrating the success of its Apprenticeship Scheme as six new apprentices begin their careers with the home builder.
The new hires come as Barratt Developments Yorkshire West announce it will be creating around 745 construction jobs as a direct result of new sites that are due to launch this year in a bid to support local people and boost the Yorkshire economy.
The new apprentices include Bricklayer Sol Whitehouse, 17 from Bradford and Joiner Joseph Hughes, 22 from Leeds who will based at The Bridleways in Eccleshill; Joiner Angel Matthew, 17 from Keighley will work from Saxon Dene in Silsden; Bricklayer Daniel Ballard, 17 from Oughtibridge will gain experience working at Oughtibridge Valley;Joiner Sebastian Clark, 17 from Rotherham will be located at Momentum and finally, Ada Urbaniak, 19 from Sheffield will be gaining experience as a Joiner at Momentum in Waverley.
The five star home builder’s Apprenticeship Scheme is a mixture of on-site work experience with Barratt Developments, as well as training at Stephenson College in Leicester.

As Barratt Developments prepares to launch four new sites across the Yorkshire region, the home builder is issuing a callout for bricklaying gangs to join the company, offering opportunity for career progression and to support the country’s leading home builder during a year of continued success.
