6 reasons why you should commit to lifelong learning

Having the right leadership in place helps to create sustainable organisations that can navigate through uncertainty.

The role of lifelong learning is said to be the key to economic recovery as we navigate through a rapidly changing and uncertain employment landscape.

Here are 6 reasons why you should engage in lifelong learning:

1. Develop exceptional leadership skills for exceptional times

Great leadership is characterised by ethical values, forming trusted relationships and effectively collaborating with others. Having the right leadership in place helps to create sustainable organisations that can navigate through uncertainty. Executive Education programmes will help you develop strategic skills, insight and resilience to enable you and your organisation to thrive through these challenging times.

2. Apply your learning directly into the workplace

Newcastle University Business School’s part-time Executive Education programmes are designed especially for leaders who want to enhance their leadership skills and study whilst they work. Bring experiences from the workplace directly into the programme and implement learning directly back into your organisation.

3. Benefit from our unique approach which maps the curriculum against the UN Sustainable Development Goals

Taking a globally responsible and connected approach, the Executive Education programmes provide a unique in-depth experience of mapping and measuring personal and systemic impact against the UN Sustainable Development Goals. This provides a regional and global context to your work.

4. Combine on-the-job training and study with a Senior Leader Apprenticeship

Newcastle University Business School offers two Level 7 Senior Leader Apprenticeships designed for senior leaders and managers. These allow organisations to upskill their employees with transformative skills to become globally responsible and locally connected leaders. SMEs are able to access funding which can cover up to £14,000 of fees* and develop capabilities within their existing teams.

5. Achieve Chartered Manager Status through the Chartered Management Institute

Our apprenticeship programmes have been developed with the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) with learners receiving a CMI Level 7 Diploma in Management and Leadership on graduation and the potential to achieve full Chartered Manager Status, as well as gaining a postgraduate qualification from Newcastle University.

6. Become part of a global network of Newcastle University Business School alumni
