Job creation for County Durham workwear firm with £500k investment in new factory

A North East workwear business has announced that it is set to create 30 jobs as it invests £500k into a new purpose-built factory.

Industrial Workwear, based in County Durham, will invest in the new factory to facilitate further expansion in both its business and product offering.

This comes as the company reports that it is on track for revenue growth of £1m this year, which would mean it had doubled in size across the past two years.

The new jobs will support the company’s “impressive growth”, taking its headcount over 50.

Joanna Wellden, sales manager at Industrial Workwear, commented: “The pandemic has been a really challenging time for many businesses, and whilst we certainly had our own to deal with early on, we quickly adapted and have been able to grow the business to a phenomenal level during this period.

“There have been some notable client wins during this time, and we’re really excited about our impending new HQ, a 600sqm custom-built factory based in County Durham, which will allow us to continue growing revenue, expanding our business offering, improving service, production and delivery times, as well as creating almost 30 new jobs in the region and taking our headcount to over 50 for the first time.”

Shane Parkins, ecommerce manager, said:“Industrial Workwear is and will continue to be built on providing exceptional customer service and this approach is what has helped us exceed targets, retain customers and win new business.

“98 per cent of customers have rated our service as Good or Excellent in the last 6 months and I firmly believe it’s what really sets us apart in the industry and will help us continue to grow and offer opportunities in the County Durham and wider North East region.”
