IoD appoints Di Keller to North East diversity role

The Institute of Directors has appointed Di Keller to drive its diversity and inclusion agenda in the North East.

Di is an experienced diversity, inclusion and wellbeing specialist with experience across private, public and third sector organisations in a range of industries. She joined Karbon Homes in November 2021 as Strategic Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Lead.

As Diversity and Inclusion Ambassador for the IoD’s North East (North) branch, Di will ensure that the IoD is an open and fair organisation that offers equal opportunities for all directors to connect and develop.

IoD Ambassadors ensure that everything the IoD does places the member first. They enable greater connectivity, create influence and drive professional development opportunities while giving a local voice to the Institute.

Di said: “I am passionate about people and the North and strive to change the perspective of diversity and inclusion from a bolt-on to something that runs through the heart of organisations.

“I advocate for people and organisations to learn, grow and take action on this fundamental pillar of business success - not just because it’s good for business, but because it’s the right thing to do. Everyone is on a different stage of their journey and my ambition through this ambassadorship is to support their journeys and to ensure that diversity and inclusion stays firmly on the agenda.”

Ammar Mirza, chair, IoD North East (North), said: “Di is another terrific addition to our team. Her influential role will ensure that diversity and inclusivity is central to our branch activity while also helping directors from across the private, public and third sectors to understand and promote these important issues.”
