Beauty therapist Kellie opens up her first salon
AN experienced beauty therapist has opened her first salon.
Kellie Robb has invested thousands of pounds into her training and passing the relevant qualifications and has been working as a therapist in the UK and her native Ireland for several years.
She arrived in the north east to study a degree in Newcastle and has now launched her first salon, Laquarius Aesthetics, in Hoults Yard.
“It was time to grow my business and open my first salon to take Laquarius to the next level. I hope this is the first of many salons – I have big ambitions and eventually would like a national chain of salons,” said Donegal-born Kellie.
“Although I’ve been working as a freelance therapist in salons across the UK, Newcastle has been my home for eight years and this was always where I was going to establish my first salon,” Kellie explained.
“I looked at several places on Tyneside, but I liked the buzz at Hoults Yard, and there is plenty of opportunity to move to bigger premises on the Yard when the time comes. I’m also hoping people based at the Yard will come to the salon, “ she added.
Kellie has been a home-based therapist for five years although she has also worked at clinics and salons across the UK and in Donegal.
“I’ve invested in getting the right training, I’m CPD accredited and qualified to deliver a range of services including facial contouring, jawline sculpting, cheek enhancements, Botox treatments, micro needling, chemical peeling, lip transformation, fat dissolving injections and others,” she explained.
“I only use the very best of products so clients can be assured they get the best possible treatments,” she added.
Kellie is also a fully-trained make-up artist and has a make-up station in her new salon.
“I offer a full range of make-up services and also offer training in make-up techniques – from a one-to-one, four-week beginners’ course to an eight-week advanced course. I learned from the best – famed make-up artist LMD (Louise McDonnell) in Ireland, and the prestigious P. Louise Makeup Academy.
“Over the years I’ve developed my own techniques too. There’s just me at the moment, but I plan to expand pretty rapidly
Hoults Yard is owned and run by business centre operator HyHubs, which also runs Haylofts in Haymarket and Hypoint in Gateshead. Hyhubs Manager Laura Goldston said: “We’re delighted Kellie has chosen the Yard for her new salon and welcome her to our growing community. It’s not just about trendy, flexible offices here – we have Ghetto Golf, gyms, bakeries, coffee shops and even a brewery. Tenants love the eclectic mix of businesses – and the opportunities for cross pollination.”
