Romiley retirement community opens 50 new apartments
The Mayor and Mayoress of Stockport, Councillor Adrian Nottingham and Mrs Diane Nottingham, officially opened The Folds, a brand-new retirement community on School Brow in Romiley.
The grand opening of Adlington Retirement Living’s 50 stylish age-exclusive apartments was celebrated with a sparkling reception in the restaurant and lounge.
The Mayor of Stockport, Councillor Adrian Nottingham, spent the afternoon viewing show apartments, discussing the design and construction of The Folds and engaging with the on-site team. The Mayor and Mayoress joined new homeowners and potential purchasers to mark the occasion. The Mayor commented: “It was wonderful today to meet so many happy homeowners. The Folds is a superb new development where retirees can enjoy the privacy of their own home in their beautiful apartments, and they also have access to a restaurant, lounge and landscaped gardens. I was really impressed with the facilities and also with the sense of community.”
Alexandra Johnson, Sales and Marketing Director at Adlington Retirement Living, added “We were delighted to welcome the Mayor and Mayoress of Stockport to officially open The Folds. It was a pleasure to show them around and discuss so many aspects of life at The Folds. We thoroughly enjoyed their visit and thank them for their time and interest. Adlington Retirement Living aims to empower our older generation to live a long, happy and healthy life. We do that by creating safe and secure environments with active communities, extensive facilities, and spacious, quality homes where our homeowners can enjoy their retirement.”
A range of one, two and three bedroom apartments all include fitted kitchens, many feature en-suite shower rooms and separate bathrooms and most have walk on balconies or a patio area overlooking the beautifully landscaped gardens next to the Peak Forest Canal.
The communal facilities on offer include a hairdressing salon, therapy suite and activities studio. A guest suite, equipped with a kitchenette and en-suite, is also available for visiting friends and family.
The 24-hour on-site support team provide homeowners with added peace of mind and, if needed, the option of tailored personal care. In addition to this, there is a sophisticated emergency call system as well as a security video entry to manage access.
Four of Adlington’s sites have won Gold, Silver and Bronze Awards for the Best Retirement Development at the WhatHouse? Awards, the UK housebuilding’s most prestigious event. The Folds in Romiley and the Bridges in Macclesfield won the Silver Award in 2020 and 2019, Adlington House in Otley won the Gold Award in 2017 and Adlington House in Portishead won the Bronze Award in 2015.
