£13m MoD submarine contract creates jobs for Yorkshire gas detection firm

A Yorkshire gas detection company has announced that it is creating new jobs after securing a multi-million pound contract with the Ministry of Defence.

Analox Group, headquartered in Stokesley, has been awarded a contract with the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) for the manufacture and in-service support of submarine atmosphere monitoring systems.

The £13.9m contract is the biggest in Analox’s 40 years of operation, and will see it create seven jobs and work on solving the gas sensing challenges on board submarines.

Vicky Pigg, managing director of Analox’s Military business, commented: “We are delighted to have secured such a prestigious contract with the MOD and the whole Analox team is excited to deliver a system which will safeguard the lives of our submariners.

“It will require some changes within Analox, but with change comes the opportunity for growth and development and every single person at Analox is up for the challenge!

“The FAMS contract is the perfect example of the MOD delivering on its commitment to the government and SMEs alike, this action plan opens doors for companies like Analox and we are proud to be flying the flag for the SME community.”
