Raising visibility for under-represented groups in European real estate
Diversity Talks Real Estate launches today with its practical solution to bring more visibility to under-represented groups in the European built environment through industry events and media.
Diversity Talks Real Estate is a speakers platform of professionals from under-represented groups who are keen to speak at industry events. The platform, which has a particular focus on women, and professionals of all genders from an ethnic minority background, will be open to event organisers to ensure they have an easy way to identify a more diverse range of speakers.
Diversity Talks Real Estate is an extension of the existing Women Talk Real Estate concept, which has successfully raised the visibility of female professionals through the stage and media. Since its launch in 2017, event organisers have issued 760 speaking invitations to 307 different female professionals, increasing the number and range of women on stage at industry events.
“Women Talk Real Estate has helped grow the representation of female expertise in industry debate, as well as providing more visible role models,” said Andrea Carpenter, Director of Diversity Talks Real Estate. “We now want to bring this practical and measurable tool to other under-represented groups in the industry, helping us work towards a more diverse and inclusive industry that best serves the cities and communities in which we work.”
Diversity Talks Real Estate will still maintain the Women Talk Real Estate brand for its female-led initiatives such as training and the Speakers’ Café, which provides an opportunity to practice public speaking.
