42,000 Yorkshire digital tech jobs to be created by 2025 according to new figures
Tens of thousands of digital tech jobs are set to be created in the Yorkshire region by 2025 according to a new government report.
New figures from the ‘Assessing the UK’s regional digital ecosystems’ report show that the region could create 42,000 new jobs in the tech industry as well as grow by at least £1.6bn in less than five years.
Chris Philp, Digital Minister, commented: “I’m delighted that Yorkshire and the Humber’s digital sector is entering a golden era.
“The county is rapidly becoming a powerhouse of digital talent providing brilliant job opportunities for those who want to pursue a career in tech.
He added: “We are working tirelessly to back digital businesses with pro-innovation policies which are creating jobs, wealth and boosting people’s digital skills.
“The sector’s growth across the region is important to our mission to level up, ensuring everyone has the opportunity to benefit from the jobs and success the sector provides.”
