Building engineering firm awarded £9m infrastructure contract with Newham regeneration project
A building specialists has secured a £9m contract to install the engineering infrastructure systems for the third phase of a Newham regeneration project.
The mechanical and electrical package will serve 620 apartments at Hallsville Quarter, a new £600m town centre scheme which is being developed by Bouygues UK for Canning Town in the east London borough of Newham.
J S Wright will provide a heating distribution network to circulate low temperature hot water from an energy centre to the apartments, along with the pipework systems from plantrooms to distribute mains and boosted cold water.
The new homes will be a mix of private rented, shared ownership, “affordable” and extra care units, spread across the eight buildings.
The mechanical works will also include installing above ground drainage in landlord areas and internal rainwater harvesting systems.
Work on site has already started on the project which is scheduled for completion in late 2023.
Phil Leech, managing director of J S Wright, said: “We are delighted that such a prestigious developer has turned again to our mechanical and electrical expertise to help transform the lives of residents in a rapidly developing area of London.”
