Yorkshire home provider invests £3.75m in Middlesbrough housing development
A Yorkshire-based home provider is investing over £3.75m in a new housing development in Middlesbrough.
The development is under construction by contractors Equans, formerly Engie, on the new Boho Village development in Middlehaven.
The purchase is supported by Homes England with grant funding totalling approximately £1.2m.
The apartments, which form part of MDC’s 61-home scheme, will be offered for sale on a rent to buy tenure upon their completion in August 2022.
The scheme was conceived and designed by Bright Ideas Consulting and Development, who now act as project managers for MDC who are funding and delivering the scheme.
Louise Bentley, senior project manager at Beyond Housing, said: “We are delighted to be a part of this exciting new development. By delivering these 30 beautiful eco-friendly homes on a rent to buy basis we will be offering a great opportunity for people to become established on the housing ladder.”
Tony Dodds, managing director of Middlesbrough Development Company Ltd, added: “It’s a pleasure to be working with Beyond Housing on what is Middlesbrough Development Company’s inaugural residential development.
“Their early commitment to the project has helped MDC and Bright Ideas to deliver new homes in this area of Middlesbrough, preparing the way for a wave of new schemes which will not only help regenerate the wider Middlehaven area but also benefit the town as a whole.”
