British Abstract Artist Toni Thornton Launches New Prints

Yorkshire based abstract artist, Toni Thornton, has launched two new limited edition prints, perfect for an autumn/winter home refresh.

Toni, who has recently welcomed her first child, has had a huge year. From collaborating with Essex TV styling duo, the Style Sisters, to creating bespoke artwork for the homes of celebrities such as Perrie Edwards and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, this year has surpassed all expectations from Toni.

Never one to shy away from her creativity, Toni wished to launch new prints before this year nears its’ close.

These new prints, though launched simultaneously this month, are dissimilar in mood and aesthetic.

Sage Veil, the first of the two, follows on from Toni’s popular ‘Land and Sea’ collection which launched earlier this year. This atmospheric piece depicts an abstract landscape in subject. The marks within the piece are open to interpretation, but the sage green and built up marks suggest nature and allow the viewer to feel as though they are looking out across the distance. This piece suits any space as it works just as well when turned portrait.

Toni said, “ This piece is well suited to more rustic spaces, perhaps where there is other plant life or greenery. With the winter months ahead which see many of us spending more time behind closed doors, it’s becoming more common for a client to want a space to bring the outside, inside. That’s exactly what my intention was with Sage Veil.“

The second new print entitled, ‘Enchant’, is a much deeper, more dramatic piece. True to it’s name, the dazzling abstract marks within Enchant sweep across the canvas, the piece truly enchanting to view.

The chalky black base of the artwork forms a background for the stunning brush strokes of off-white, beige and stone to make a statement across the piece. The energetic character of the piece combined with the in depth texture means that the piece is suited to many spaces, particularly one with blank walls, to allow the print a moment to shine.

Toni said, “I particularly love this piece in a black frame, allowing the print to look as though it is extending off the canvas. The drama of Enchant means that this piece deserves to be a focus point which is why it looks best when staged in a minimalist setting.”

As we head towards the festive period these prints are sure to take centre stage in a home that’s soon to be filled with friends and family this Christmas, and would make the perfect gift for a loved one.
