The Bigger Boat and Storyblok join forces to champion the future of headless
Integrated agency The Bigger Boat has become only one of two UK-based organisations to partner with Storyblok – a leading headless content management system (CMS).
Nearly 60,000 web developers, marketers and copywriters throughout the globe are currently plugging in Storyblok to build pages – in just a few clicks – via feature-rich, visual editing functionality, and an API-driven CMS.
The intuitive martech platform allows users to isolate blocks of content down to component level so that they can publish and repurpose copy across multiple channels. Individuals can also access an interactive dashboard to view changes in real-time and ensure what they’re posting is neither out-of-date nor duplicated.
As well as providing The Bigger Boat with the freedom to develop websites and applications in a sandbox – or testing – environment, its 20-strong crew is also expanding its headless expertise via Storyblok’s free training materials and resources, and subsequently providing additional support and knowledge to clients.
The partnership comes on the back of The Bigger Boat launching several successful headless websites for some of its clients – providing faster and more flexible content delivery, rapid design iterations, and enhanced security functionality.
Andy McCaul, managing director and co-founder of The Bigger Boat, said: “This partnership vastly accelerates our web development service, and we believe headless is the future of websites.
“The adaptability and features we’ve unlocked since joining the Storyblok platform allow our crew to be more efficient when building wholly bespoke solutions for clients. Plus, the collaboration not only increases the quality and accuracy of our work, but we’re in a strong position to advocate the powers of headless architecture and raise awareness nationwide.”
One of the most recent headless overhauls completed by The Bigger Boat was for Giggles Day Nursery. The Leeds-based family business – rated as ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted and which has provided more than 30 years of childcare services throughout Yorkshire – required a fresh brand identity to match its setting’s growth.
Managing the design, build and official launch of the new-look site, The Bigger Boat implemented a headless CMS to allow nursery staff members to update the site swiftly around busy work schedules. And, because data and content cannot be accessed through the front end of the website, this also ensures all sensitive information remains strictly protected.
Further rebrand features include the introduction of visually engaging, animated characters, interactive videos, and more emphasis on the provision of information for parents – including details about what’s on the curriculum, plus fees and grants guidance.
“I had high expectations of The Bigger Boat, but I must say they have gone above and beyond,” commented Katie Mountain, Giggles Day Nursery’s managing director.
“They have not only created everything from the brief, but they have also done so to the highest of standard with exemplary care and attention to detail. Working with The Bigger Boat has been such a positive experience and I hope to work with them again soon on more exciting projects.”
