Mobility aid supplier expands to Leeds to facilitate growth
A UK supplier of mobility aids and furniture has opened a northern distribution facility in Leeds, to facilitate its continued expansion.
CareCo’s new premises were previously occupied by an exhibition stand manufacturer, Nova Displays, and comprises a detached industrial warehouse facility of 40,000 sq ft. The new site is located on Peckfield Industrial Estate in Micklefield, just outside Garforth.
CareCo was represented by property consultancy Gent Visick (GV) and the premises were marketed by Knight Frank, on behalf of a private owner.
CareCo has experienced growth since they began trading in 2009 from a 6,000 sq ft barn. The company now operates from a modern headquarters and distribution facility of 50,000 sq ft in Brentwood, Essex and has 24 showrooms in almost every major city across the UK, from Edinburgh to Exeter.
It employs over 220 people across the country and has serviced over 600,000 customers since its inception.
Angus MacLean, property director for CareCo commented: “Our new northern distribution facility is situated in a strategically positioned in a central location in the UK and just off junction 47 of the M1 motorway.
“The new distribution hub will enable the growth of the company to continue, as we look to continue opening more showrooms across the UK.”
Paul Mack, director of GV commented: “We are delighted to have secured this rare freehold opportunity on behalf of CareCo to facilitate its continued growth.
“With the availability of warehouse premises hitting critically low levels across the Yorkshire region and throughout the UK, freehold opportunities such as these are becoming harder and harder to find.”
