County Durham charity organisation latest to make North East environmental pledge
County Durham based charity organisation The Pioneering Care Partnership (PCP) is joining contemporaries across the North East “with a vision of becoming England’s greenest region”.
PCP has made a pledge to “go green” and support the North East of England Climate Coalition (NEECCo) that aims to tackle the climate emergency, reverse ecological collapse, and deliver an “urgent and just transition”.
Carol Gaskarth, chief executive of PCP, said: “PCP pledges to understand the impact the organisation has on the environment. We will monitor energy consumption and actively strive to reduce it.
“We will work with our teams to increase awareness and encourage ideas to take positive action at work, home and in the community.
“With over 100 staff based across the North East, PCP is dedicated to making small changes for a big difference for our future generations through our new environmental pledge.”
From 2019, Voluntary Organisations’ Network North East (VONNE) has been working with the public, private and VSCE sectors to become England’s greatest region, which includes plans to address the climate crisis and transition to a green economy.
