Local Businesswoman Sophie Milliken Announced as Women's Business Awards Winner

The Women’s Business Awards is a highlight of the year. On Thursday 2nd December, the annual awards ceremony, sponsored by Xero, took place virtually to celebrate the best business women from various sectors and locations.

Winning an award is a huge achievement and is given to the woman who has been outstanding in their career and business.

Local businesswoman Sophie Milliken from SRS Recruitment and Employability Experts, based in Newcastle Upon Tyne, is proud to have won the top award for Businesswomen of the Year. Sophie has had a fantastic year, growing her business to help more graduate employers, universities, and students. She has also achieved personal highlights, including publishing her second best-selling book, ‘The Ambition Accelerator’.

Sophie Milliken says, “I am delighted to have won the Businesswoman of the Year award. It has been a busy year with lots of client wins and the publication of my second book so this is a lovely way to round off 2021. A big thank you to my epic team for nominating me for this award – they are all superstars!”

Awards founder Angela De Souza said “there is nothing quite like celebrating the accomplishments of our businesswomen. This year we saw some incredible entries which made the judge’s decision really tough. Although only one woman could win in each category, we feel that every single woman who entered is a winner - she is still standing, she is still determined to succeed and she still has hope for the future, a winning attitude indeed. I am so proud of all business men and women who are pushing through this tough year.”

Women’s Business Club hosts the Women’s Business Awards, and exists to connect, support, and empower business women.
