Knightsbridge Furniture secures half a million deal with G4S for Britain’s largest prison
Leading furniture manufacturer, Knightsbridge, has secured a contract approaching half a million pounds, with the British multinational private security company, G4S.
The Bradford-based business was appointed by G4S as the lead furniture supplier for the refurbishment of Britain’s largest prison, HMP Five Wells.
Reported as the business’s biggest single order secured in over five years, Knightsbridge has provided a selection of furniture to be situated throughout the communal areas of the quarter-billion-pound private prison.
Products include the Hula Dining Table, Coffee Table and High Back Armless Chair, chosen for the range’s robust construction, comfort and option for additional weighting, as well as the Bubble Sofa, Armchair and Coffee Table, chosen for its moulded plastic design with wide rounded edges, to offer practicality with a cohesive design element throughout the site.
All furniture products will be expertly designed, crafted and supplied by Knightsbridge from its factory of 85 years, to support G4S’s aim to make the prison a ‘best in class’ facility and the project will be delivered within just six months.
Jason Brown, Director of Design & Development at Knightsbridge says “We’re thrilled with the outcome of this project. We have enjoyed working with G4S across smaller projects over the past 8 years but nothing to this scale. The Knightsbridge team worked closely with G4S to ensure we provided furniture solutions to suit their brief and we will complete this sizeable project within just six months. We’re looking forward to continuing and extending a fruitful working relationship with this client moving forward.”
