Hydraulics company pass nationally recognised scheme with flying colours

Following a recent audit from the British Fluid Power Association, Hydraulic & Offshore Supplies (HOS) are delighted to have once again passed a nationally recognised industry-leading safety scheme.

The Approved Hose Assemblies scheme, which was established in 1995 by the British Fluid Power Association, is now the leading industry accreditation scheme for hose manufacturing, assembly, distribution and fitting. It sets a formal and credible standard for the assembly, storage and supply of hose across all sectors.

HOS successfully passed their inspection following a detailed audit from a BFPA representative, while they were successfully able to demonstrate their adherence to all current legislation and show their commitment to hydraulic hose safety, they also received no non-conformities.

HOS, who have been based on Sunderland’s riverside for over 30 years, provide services to the oil, gas, marine and renewables sectors, helping businesses both nationally and internationally, their services include material supply, installation, servicing and hire.

The company have made recent investments in their machinery, staff training, marketing and sales and have also recently exhibited at the prestigious Offshore Wind NE Conference & Expo at the Beacon of Light in Sunderland.

Martin Kingsbury, Membership & Training Director of the BFPA commented, “It is noteworthy that HOS received top marks for excellence, they have clearly invested a lot of time and money in both its employees and capital equipment including swaging machines, test facilities and training, this major investment will ultimately be beneficial to their customers.”

Managing director of HOS, Don Fenwick, was delighted with the results of the inspection, commenting ‘Our whole team should be extremely proud of not only passing the inspection but also the comments given to us by the BFPA, we didn’t receive one non-conformity and this is testament to the hard work and dedication of our employees.

By being part of the Approved Hose Assemblies Scheme, our customers can be assured that we are committed to hydraulic hose safety, our staff are competently trained, adhere to all current legislation and have a professional understanding of hose technology.’
