Leading law firm helps complete on transatlantic listing deal
A leading Midlands law firm has completed work on its first transatlantic listing for a major client.
Wright Hassall, based in Leamington Spa, undertook all the UK legal work for Trinity Pictures Distribution in the reverse takeover of Canadian firm Appreciated Media Holdings.
Trinity Pictures Distribution, which was formed in 2014, is involved in the international production and distribution of film and television content and offers a route to global markets for independent producers.
In the past year alone it has produced five movies and distributed 25 television shows and documentaries.
The new entity has now been listed on the Toronto-based NEO Exchange as Amcomri Entertainment Inc (NE:AMEN) and started trading on January 13.
Wright Hassall’s Robert Lee, who is one of the partners in the firm’s corporate law group, said the move was the latest stage of Amcomri’s international expansion.
He said: “The firm was originally involved in the home entertainment sector through the distribution of titles in the UK and Ireland. It realised there was a lack of distribution possibilities for independent titles in those markets and set about developing a business to capitalise on that opportunity.
“It has steadily added companies to the group but also now produces its own titles which it distributes alongside the work of independent producers – and has been immensely successful.
“It has been really rewarding to be involved in its evolution, and it was great to watch the NEO Exchange bell being rung to mark its listing and to know we had played a part.”
