South Yorkshire giants join forces to drive improvement in the nation’s markets

The UK’s local markets stand to benefit in a big way after the country’s biggest pop up gazebo and marquee retailer Gala Tent signed up as the official partners of trade organisation, the National Market Traders Federation (NMTF), based out of Hoyland, Barnsley.

The NMTF is a non-profit trade organisation, established back in 1899, and is dedicated to supporting market and street traders, events retailers, and mobile caterers in the UK. It supports upwards of 12,000 members in a variety of ways, including representing them in negotiations with market operators, help and advice for maximising their market space, and gaining insurance cover, amongst other services.

The partnership with the organisation marks a cementing of Gala Tent’s position in the sector as a supplier of commercial quality pop up market stalls to outdoor retailers and caterers and will enable the firm to build on a record breaking 2021 as restrictions relating to the covid-19 pandemic continue to ease and outdoor retail begins to see a return to a level of normality.

NMTF Chief Executive Joe Harrison met with Gala Tent CEO Jason Mace on Wednesday 12th January to officially seal the deal before Mace took the NMTF on a guided tour of the Gala Tent headquarters.

Jason said, “I am delighted to be able to take this opportunity to work with a major organisation in the markets sector, which has always provided a great client base for Gala Tent over the years. I look forward to working alongside Joe and his team, and to growing this partnership together.”

The partnership will see both organisations working alongside one another to provide market traders and operators with the tools they need to offer a great service to their customers. Gala Tent’s team of marketing experts will also work alongside the NMTF to offer new skills to traders in bringing their company brands to a digital audience.

NMTF Chief Executive Joe Harrison said, “This is a partnership that will offer great benefits to both parties, as well as do a great service to our 12,000 members.”

Founded in 1999, Gala Tent has grown to sell over 15,000 tents and marquees each year, along with around 90,000 event accessories and furniture products. In the UK, Gala Tent is a preferred supplier for the general public and organisations including the military, NHS and the emergency services nationally.
