Shoosmiths London banking and real estate finance team continues expansion
Law firm Shoosmiths and its London office continue an ambitious corporate growth strategy with the appointment of Chris Mills as banking partner. Chris brings significant experience of the London banking market to the team, with particular expertise in real estate finance. His experience includes advising institutional lenders as well as advising borrower clients – in relation to both investment and development deals.
His appointment follows a record 2021 for the Shoosmiths London and wider real estate finance team for deal activity, in terms of volume and aggregate value of transactions through ongoing fast-paced market conditions.
Liz Sweeney, who leads the firm’s real estate finance offering, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Chris to our national real estate finance team, bringing a wealth of experience within the sector. As we look to broaden our client base in the City, his proven collaborative approach across national and international deals on both bilateral and syndicated transactions makes him an extremely exciting new appointment.”
Rebecca Mauleverer, Shoosmiths head of banking and finance, said: “This is an important next step in the development of our London-based banking and finance team – we are delighted to welcome Chris to our London office.”
Chris Mills added: “This is such a great time to be joining Shoosmiths, with a driven corporate strategy based from our new home of Bow Churchyard. Activity levels within the banking and finance sector show no signs of slowing down and I can’t wait for a busy 2022 working with such an impressive team.”
