Birdies set to open ‘tee-rific’ location within Islington’s Angel Central
CBRE Investment Management has announced Birdies, the immersive crazy golf experience, cocktail bar and street food eatery has signed for its newest London location within Islington’s Angel Central. Brought to you by the people behind Rooftop Film Club and the games operators at Roof East in Stratford, this will be Birdies second and largest venue to date.
Birdies, an award-winning concept which sports mind-bending, visually whimsical crazy golf courses, has signed at the recently refurbished and transformative destination taking up a 5,558 sq ft unit, opposite Wagamama and H&M. With a huge emphasis on the design of the courses, the Birdies site, designed by Shed, will feature a floor of experiential escapes with immersive obstacles to enthrall, engage and excite consumers. Birdies first site in Battersea won the UK ‘In Another Space category’ in the 2020 Restaurant & Bar Design Awards.
The brightly coloured, multi-sensory competitive socialising space will provide a vibrant hub for visitors to enjoy and play, with the added benefit of the on-site Birdies bar. Furthermore, Birdies will offer street food and an exciting cocktail menu, bringing the fun party vibes the venue in Battersea has become famous for to Angel. It is set to be the ultimate social experience.
Neil Garner, Creative Director at Birdies, commented on the new signing: “Opening Birdies in Angel is our largest London location to date and our first location in North London - it’s a huge milestone for us. Angel Central provides the perfect space and proximity to increase our exposure and awareness throughout the capital. Birdies offers visitors some escapism from everyday life and unbridled fun with their mates. We can’t wait to get our new North London visitors in the doors to experience the brilliant atmosphere at Birdies, and show them what all the fuss is about.”
Ciara Daffy, Asset Manager at CBRE Investment Management, added: “It is so exciting to have this popular concept join Angel Central, further modernising and transforming the scheme. The arrival of Birdies extends our leisure offering, bringing with them a new consumer to the recently refurbished destination and underpins Angel Central’s priority of ensuring visitors are met with concepts that are exciting and unique.”
Alongside the recent signing of Birdies, Angel Central has also welcomed the official launch of Saint Espresso, the independent coffee house within the new and upgraded central plaza space.
