National Apprenticeship Week at the University of Sunderland
This year’s National Apprenticeship Week 2022 starts on 7th February with the theme of Build The Future.
As part of the week, the University of Sunderland will take the time to reflect and celebrate the successes of their apprentices, which will include the most inspiring stories of individuals on higher and degree apprenticeships.
The University puts employer engagement at the forefront of what they do. They have developed exceptional links with over 100 employers, supporting workforce development. Their collaborative approach has led to over 15 degree-level apprenticeship programmes, across a range of sectors and job roles, with more coming soon.
The University’s employer engagement has resulted in the design of contemporary programmes, building business knowledge and skills for the future. Apprenticeships are job role specific and involve a range of work-based projects which allow learning to be applied directly to the business.
Employers play a key role in this journey. They provide environments that encourage people to excel, meet their personal and/or professional goals and progress in their careers, whilst also adding value back to the business.
The University is hosting a Build The Future online event during apprenticeship week in partnership with Dynamo - Thursday 10th February from 9:30am-12pm.
The event will share apprenticeship experiences and include:
- Welcome Introduction - Build The Future apprenticeship presentation
- Interactive roundtable discussions with academic and business panel
- Build Our Region session - presenting guest speakers from around our region
- Open Q&A sessions & breakout rooms throughout
- Free online Leadership Masterclass
Have your say and join the event - Meeting Registration - Zoom
Businesses can benefit from funding to pay for tuition fees. For levy-paying employers it’s an opportunity to attract talent to your business, train your staff and enjoy the ultimate return on investment. For smaller businesses, the Government will fund up to 95% apprenticeship tuition fees.
Some of the most popular apprenticeships offered at the University of Sunderland include the MBA Senior Leader, Learning and Skills Teacher, BEng Engineering Practice, BSc Digital and Technology Professional and the MSc Digital and Technology Solutions Specialist.
A series of information events are taking place over the coming weeks. Register now to find out more!
