Student “task app” UniTaskr announces new hires ahead of ambitious plans for expansion
UniTaskr, an innovative app that connects people and businesses with students for paid work opportunities, has today announced the appointment of two new senior developers, Carl Visser and Travis Bradfield, as the company positions itself for continued rapid growth.
Ranked as the #1 Top Free Lifestyle and Business app via the Apple App Store, UniTaskr was originally established in September 2019 by co-founders Joseph Black and Oliver Jacobs to provide a smart and reliable way to help students generate additional income, whilst gaining valuable work experience across different sectors.
Having joined UniTaskr, Carl and Travis will now work on rebuilding the iPhone and Android app on a completely new technology stack. This will enable the onboarding of millions of new users, as well as the implementation of new features, allowing students to search for and complete tasks more efficiently.
Carl boasts an impressive track record, having worked in the London software development industry for 7 years as a full stack developer and systems architect for companies including Nowcasting Economics and Account Technologies, with extensive experience in backend development and cutting-edge technologies.
Travis possesses similarly extensive knowledge, having worked building mobile apps since 2016 across a wide variety of industries. He brings with him his expertise in software solutions and problem solving, with previous roles including Senior Software Engineer at DK.com, and Senior Software Developer at The Stationary Office.
Travis Bradfield, Senior Developer of UniTaskr, commented: “Joining the development team at UniTaskr is an incredible opportunity for me to learn, and to lead the product development process for a proven and validated start-up.”
Carl Visser, Senior Developer of UniTaskr, confirmed: “I have been looking forward to building new technology in a flourishing space, nurtured by the energetic team at UniTaskr.”
Oliver Jacobs, Co-Founder of UniTaskr said: “We are delighted to have two incredibly talented developers working alongside us in the same room, building and improving the UniTaskr app. They will bring years of experience in app building, and the duo’s different skill sets perfectly complement each other.”
Headquartered in London with offices in Manchester, UniTaskr now employs a team of 22 individuals and is looking to appoint 5 additional new hires in the coming weeks to further expand their campaign management and community teams.
About UniTaskr: Over the last two years, UniTaskr has accumulated over 190,000 members, 190,000 tasks and an incredible £12 million in opportunities offered in collective income to students during 2021. As a result, the tech start-up has successfully scaled its monthly recurring revenue to 6 figures and has attracted an impressive £1.25m in pledged funding from angel investors.
