Ecogee appointed as main supplier in Fusion21 £750M in decarbonisation framework
Liverpool energy and construction specialist Ecogee has been announced as a main supplier in Fusion21’s £750million national Decarbonisation Framework.
The four-year framework, which is being led by the renowned social enterprise, is specifically designed to meet the needs of public sector organisations such as NHS trusts, education providers, housing associations and more as they accelerate their journey towards achieving net-zero targets.
Ecogee believes they were selected as a supplier due to their ten-year commitment to green energy, and in particular their extensive work in helping end fuel poverty in their local area by working with registered providers and local authorities.
Managing Director Brendan Helm said: “It is a great honour to have been selected as a supplier for Fusion21, and to have Ecogee recognised as a leading energy saving provider in our field especially as the majority of those awarded were larger organisations. This demonstrates just how far we have and continue to develop.”
“We are dedicated to combating the fuel crisis that is affecting our entire country, with a particular focus on our local region.”
The Fusion21 Framework appoints 50 specialist firms, including SMEs and multinational suppliers, as they strive to meet the government’s net zero target by 2050. The framework supports the design and delivery of energy efficiency measures, combining contracts that can deliver thermal fabric improvements, heating and renewables, power and building management systems. All to the benefit of the planet as well as people’s pockets.
Based in Aintree, Ecogee will be one of only 23 firms working as part of the £500 million ‘Lot 1’, which provides solutions for complete house energy efficiency measures to the highest standards. This can include fabric insulation, ventilation systems and renewable technologies, such as air source heat pumps and solar PV.
Brendan continued: “Our extensive experience in external wall installation, energy saving grants and new build social housing make us the perfect candidate for the Fusion21 framework, and we’re thrilled to be able to continue our work with local authorities and registered providers in ending fuel poverty.”
“We believe we were chosen because our portfolio proves that we can deliver first-rate projects set against an energy efficient and zero-carbon agenda, and we look forward to implementing this further as part of the framework.” Since its establishment in 2012 in response to the Government’s Energy Efficiency Programme, Ecogee has quickly become a leading provider of ECO grants across the North West and the firm’s recent work with Sefton Council aims to improve energy efficiency and enhance the quality of life for residents in the area. In 2021, the firm was able to deliver 5,633 energy saving measures across Liverpool and further afield as part of its Energy Companies Obligation (ECO).
John Farley, Framework Manager (Construction) at Fusion21, said: “The tender process was highly competitive and has identified the best contractors for our members to use for the delivery of both domestic and non-domestic retrofit schemes to the latest standards.
“Members accessing this framework will benefit from flexible call-off options, UK-wide coverage and the option to deliver social value to their communities, aligned to their organisational priorities.”
