European Medical Group relanches popular gold podcast under new editor
European Medical Group (EMG-Health) is relaunching its popular GOLD Podcast this week under the new editorship of award-winning journalist Helena Beer.
With a brand new format each Podcast will feature news and analysis of the industry’s latest hot topics and things listeners might have missed, patient and healthcare professional perspectives and lots more. Following hot on its heels is the publication of GOLD 20, the first issue of the magazine with Helena at the helm.
Helena Beer is a key hire for the ambitious publishing group. In 2021, she won the PPA 30 Under 30 award, which followed on from a previous award win in 2019, where she was voted as offering Best Education Support in the Avicenna Media Awards, run by the UK’s largest independent pharmacy support group.
She has also chaired and run sessions at leading pharmacy conferences over the past few years and hosted Training Matters’ annual Recognition of Excellence Awards, having spent six years at Training Matters magazine itself , latterly as editor.
Prior to that, Helena worked as a freelance health and lifestyle writer for a number of leading consumer magazines including Weight Watchers, Good Housekeeping, Prima and House Beautiful.
With EMG-Health experiencing high growth over the 12 months across both the European Medical Journal (EMJ) and GOLD publications, Helena is responsible for the content strategy across a variety of GOLD magazine channels including its bi-monthly publication, website, podcasts and newsletters.
Her aim is to generate content and analysis that will support senior pharmaceutical industry leaders in their roles and update them with the latest industry news and insights.
Helena hosted the new GOLD podcast this week with Head of Marketing Marc Koskela and they are back with a group of fantastic guests to add to the podcast’s inspirational interview roster, joining the likes of ex-England Rugby coach Sir Clive Woodward, Sandoz’s Carol Lynch and Margo Warren from the Access to Medicine Foundation.
Helena said: “We’re so excited to be relaunching the GOLD Podcast with a fresh new format and more opportunity to share brilliant pharma insights with our listeners. We kicked off with discussions around vaccines and how pharma can embrace blockchain this week. It’s going to be a fantastic series and we encourage everyone to subscribe wherever they get their podcasts so they don’t miss out.”
Dan Scott, chief executive at EMG-Health, said: “Attracting an editor of Helena’s calibre and reputation is testament to the strides we have made at GOLD in the last two years. She will now add her leadership and expertise to a dynamic content programme to support ambitious healthcare professionals and the wider industry. We look forward to working with her.”
