Leeds brunch venue expands to second venue

A Leeds brunch venue recently revealed new plans to open a second venue in Roundhay’s Oakwood.

Opening on March 4, House of Koko Oakwood will take over the venue, formally Hessian, whilst maintaining its Chapel Allerton branch.

House of Koko will continue to deliver on the brand’s brunch offering. Hessian’s staff will remain, keeping local knowledge and familiar faces for the Hessian regulars as the venue evolves into House of Koko.

By April, House of Koko intends to channel a little of Owner Rosita’s other venue - Distrikt bar in the city centre. They will open in the evenings, offering a supper menu of small plates alongside wine and cocktails.

House of Koko Owner, Rosita Roger: “We’re so excited to expand into another exciting Leeds foodie suburb. This up-and-coming area already has some fab foodie offerings, and we’re so happy to be joining the club.

“Establishing ourselves as a regular evening venue is also an exciting new step for us, and a challenge we are ready to meet head-on!”

House of Koko will continue their commitment to sourcing local produce in their Oakwood venue.

Cakes come courtesy of Savvy Baker, Glazed & Confused and coffee is sourced from local roastery North Star, who source their coffee beans ethically, directly from the farmers. House of Koko will be calling on even more local businesses for their input as time goes on.

Rosita adds: “Once we have the evenings up and running, hopefully in April, we’ll be using a good friend of mine - Leng Libation - for cocktails. We’ll also have some local breweries on tap and some great organic wine. We’re also planning “picnic packages” for the summer - watch this space!”

House of Koko will continue to serve vegan options alongside both healthy and indulgent brunch dishes, from the likes of Turkish eggs to maple syrup-smothered banana and pecan pancakes.
