YFM appoints chief compliance officer as firm continues to grow
Experienced compliance professional Jen Townshend is the latest recruit to join the expanding team at YFM Equity Partners (YFM), taking on the role of chief compliance officer. Over the last 14 years, Jen has held a number of compliance and regulatory positions, most recently at Great Point Media where she spent the last three years as head of compliance and Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO). Prior to that, she was a compliance consultant with Sturgeon Ventures for two years, as well as having been compliance manager and assistant MLRO with Ingenious Media for two years. Jen is a member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment. With a heritage approaching 40 years, YFM has expanded to a 43-strong team, headquartered in Leeds and with offices in Manchester, Birmingham, London and Reading. It supports fast-growing businesses in every region of the UK, YFM typically investing between £2m and £10m per transaction. Marcus Karia, chief financial officer at YFM, comments: “Jen’s broad experience and understanding across the whole spectrum of compliance is a great fit for our needs. As the firm continues to grow, it is vital that we have a dedicated expert overseeing our compliance responsibilities and, with her strong track record, Jen is a valuable addition to the team.” Jen adds: “I am very excited to be joining YFM - they are a great team, not only do they have an impressive track record, but also ambitions to drive the business forward whilst ensuring that their clients and colleagues remain front and centre of that journey.”
