Dudley Town FC Score For The Care Workers’ Charity
Following the success of the Dudley Town Football Club sportsman’s fundraising evening the football club has raised a crowd cheering £1500 for The Care Workers’ Charity.
The funds will be a valuable addition to the charity whose primary aim is to advance the financial, professional and mental wellbeing of adult social care workers by making grants, signposting to resources and providing access to services.
Stephen Austin, Director of Dudley Town Football Club says: “The event featuring Dean Windass, former Premier League Striker and comedian Lea Roberts was compered by the ‘Voice of Old Trafford’ Alan Keegan and was a huge hit. We are hoping the charity will benefit enormously from this donation. This isn’t the last time we are hoping to hold an event in aid of The Care Workers’ Charity, we are already planning our next one and hope it will be bigger and better in raising those much needed funds.”
This fundraising event was an important part of the Club’s wider support of Championing Social Care, the charitable initiative that shines a light on the incredible value of social care and those who live and work within it, which includes shirt sponsorship of the Club’s first team.
Karolina Gerlich Executive Director at The Care Workers’ Charity “We are incredibly happy with the fundraising efforts from Dudley Town FC. This incredibly generous donation will be put to good use helping us support current and former care workers with one-off crisis grants.”
