New variety store to open in Hull creating 18 jobs
Poundland will open a new store in Willerby, Hull, on March 5, bringing customers more choice and creating jobs in the area.
The new store, at 6, Willerby Shopping Park, Great Gutter Lane West, will employ 18 colleagues, and, at more than 6,000 square feet, will offer shoppers a range of items. The store was formerly occupied by Poundstretcher.
Customers will enjoy the benefits of the rollout of PEP&CO, offering clothes for the whole family, just seven years after the clothing brand was born.
As well as womenswear, menswear and kidswear, there will also be a PEP&CO Home section, featuring the latest 2022 ranges including throws, cushions, photo frames and decorative pieces.
Poundland Willerby will join the growing number of Poundland stores – set to pass 350 this year – to offer chilled and frozen food as part of project Diamond Ice.
While the store will still offer everyday essentials such as groceries, drinks and snacks, they will also be able to see revamped health and beauty, entertainment, stationery and craft ranges.
Poundland’s retail and transformation director, Austin Cooke, said: “Willerby is a great addition to our network of stores in Hull and the East Riding Yorkshire and we’re excited to be increasing our presence in the region.
“We’re really proud of the new store and it offers a fantastic range of items so customers in the area can pick up more of what they need in one trip.”
