Three job fairs across County Durham announced

People looking for work can find out more about employment and training opportunities at three jobs fairs.

On March 23, DurhamWorks is hosting fairs at Stanley Civic Hall, Peterlee Leisure Centre and Bishop Auckland Cricket Club, all from 10am to 2pm. The events are open to anyone of any age looking for work, with DurhamWorks there to support those aged 16 to 24.

A host of employers who have vacancies available now will be present, with DurhamWorks delivery partners and colleges also attending to support jobseekers to move into training or apprenticeships.

DurhamWorks is a county-wide programme led by Durham County Council, which supports unemployed young people to gain the skills, qualifications and experiences they need to progress into jobs, training and education.

Employers attending the jobs fairs include Corehaus, VBites, Karbon Homes, Hays Travel, Northern Powergrid, McDonald’s and many others. Durham University, Hartlepool College and Springboard will also be represented.

Everyone who attends will be entered into a prize draw for the chance to win a £50 Love to Shop voucher, terms and conditions apply.

Cllr Elizabeth Scott, Durham County Council’s Cabinet member for economy and partnerships, said: “These events provide a fantastic opportunity for anyone looking to get into work, education or training to find out more about what is available in County Durham.

“There will be dozens of employers and education organisations attending, so I’d encourage those interested to take the time to go along and speak to those present.”
