Strong recovery for CSDPrint

Castleford-based CSDPrint, one of the region’s most established printing companies has seen sales surge by 30% since January and is rebooting its expansion plans.

In the last 12 months the company has invested over £100,000 in new cutting and printing technology and has just appointed two additional members of staff, Lee Jewson and Liam Austin.

The family-run company which has clients throughout the UK has seen its business recover significantly over the last three months not only through additional work from existing clients but new business from a number of public sector and blue-chip companies such as Leeds City College, Wakefield District Housing, Superdry and Specsavers.

Commenting on the upturn CSDPrint managing director Stephen Harrison said: “We have been in business since 1987 and I’ve got to say the last two years have definitely been the most challenging. Like many in our sector we tried to adapt as quickly as possible to the impact of the pandemic but now we feel a definite stability returning to the market.

“Being relatively lean and having an experienced, multi-skilled team we were able to switch to producing a whole range of new printed products including safe distancing signage, portable sanitiser dispenser stations and sneeze screens of all shapes and sizes. I’m glad to say we are now back to producing our normal range of promotional print items and signage.

“Some sectors have picked up much more quickly than others. We are very fortunate to work with a number of construction companies and property developers who are busier than ever, and also some of our education and tourism clients are ramping up their marketing activities again to pre-2020 levels.”

CSDPrint has 10 employees and its clients include Leeds City Council, Leeds City College, Burberry, Total UK, Bell Lighting, OCO Technology and marketing agencies nationwide.
