Accountancy Firm Eyes Growth as it Opens New Liverpool Office

A consultancy specialising in tax, accounting and legal services has expanded its UK footprint by opening a new office in Liverpool as it eyes ambitious growth on the back of business expansion.

Over the last year, Accounts and Legal has increased turnover by 33% and made 18 new hires across its four offices, taking its total staff count to 40. The new office is based at the Tea Factory on Wood Street, Liverpool, and will be led by Max Whiteley, Head of Liverpool.

Established in 2015, Accounts and Legal has continued to expand following the opening of a London office, and the firm now has sites in Brighton, Manchester and Liverpool with plans to open three more offices in the next 18 months.

Building on the success of its London and Brighton office launches, its Manchester office headcount has increased from three to 10 staff and now has over 140 clients.

The Liverpool office looks to further extend the firm’s reach across the North-West, tapping into the abundance of fast-growing SMEs in the region.

Stuart Hurst, Director at Accounts and Legal said:

“It really has been a meteoric couple of years for the firm, and we’re fortunate that we’ve been able to come out in good shape after the pandemic.

“The success of the Manchester office has shown there is a huge appetite for our services in the North, and we’re ready to hit the ground running in Liverpool.

“The team is continuing to grow and we’re always on the lookout for the freshest talent, so it’s set to be an exciting few years ahead.”

Set up by entrepreneur Neil Nichols, Accounts and Legal provide both accountancy and legal services under one roof to ambitious SMEs and sole traders across the UK.

After selling his own business, Neil was struck by how complicated it was dealing with solicitors and accountants separately. Accounts and Legal was set up to combine the two specialisms, ultimately making the process more streamlined for business owners.

The company’s Head of Liverpool, Max Whiteley said: “It’s a great time to be in Liverpool, and the reception we’ve had from local businesses up to now has been overwhelmingly positive.

“The city really is continuing to flourish, so it’s a privilege to be a part of that, and of course, we wouldn’t have been able to do it without our amazing team.

“We’ve now got some friendly competition with the Manchester office and we’re hoping to match its figures in the next few years. Watch this space!”
