Leading publisher and distributor of children’s books to open new chapter at showcase London offices negotiated by Bromwich Hardy

Scholastic, the global children’s publishing, education and media company, is moving its UK office, currently based in Euston, to new landmark offices at 1 London Bridge in a deal concluded by Richard Hardy, founding partner of the award-winning commercial property specialist Bromwich Hardy.

“These new offices are a superb fit for the company, reflecting its own commitment to excellence and providing the space and flexibility to embrace its ambitions for the future and new ways of hybrid working,” said Richard.

“This is the third London move I have negotiated for them over the past twenty years, reflecting their evolving needs.”

Scholastic will occupy a floor in the building with access to reception and meeting space on the ground floor. The new office provides flexible working and collaboration space, which the company has said will support a hybrid working ethos.

Catherine Bell, group co-MD at Scholastic, said: “This move provides an opportunity for our staff to communicate and collaborate even more closely. Our new space is vibrant and energising and this is the exact right time to reduce our office footprint, utilising new space to help us to build an inclusive and creative culture in a hybrid model. This can only help us to retain and attract the very best talent and we cannot wait to welcome our authors, illustrators, customers and partners to our new home later this year.”

The company – which has earned a reputation as a trusted partner to educators and families - will move all its London staff to the new base and intends to take occupancy towards the end of the summer.

Richard added the new offices were superbly located with stunning views across the Thames to the City and sat at the heart of an expanding and thriving riverside borough, close to Borough Market.

He said a second deal involving Scholastic had also been concluded.

“I am also pleased to say that Bromwich Hardy, with our joint agents VSL and partners, have sold the freehold of Scholastic’s warehouse in Witney, Oxfordshire, thus completing the reorganisation of their warehousing operation into a new purpose-built warehouse in Warwick.”

Bromwich Hardy consistently features at the top of the rankings for most successful commercial property agencies both in the West Midlands region and further afield.
