On the record - Divorce expert urges faster turnaround to limit uncertainty

With the new changes to Britain’s divorce laws now in force, a specialist provider of online divorce advice is urging HM Courts and Tribunal Service to rethink their postal processes.

Twice published author on divorce and founder of EasyOnlineDivorce James Brien, believes that the current system is a contributing factor to unnecessary stress amongst divorcing couples and it all comes down to the post.

This new legislation is a fantastic thing and something that has been needed for some time, explains James.

However, even the smoothest and most amicable of divorces can be undermined by what is a simple lack of urgency in the process - the posting of the papers. Currently, there is a real uncertainty that can enter in when divorcing couples think that all is moving forwards and yet there is no sign of the papers.

This is often no fault of the couple in question and is actually very simple for HM Courts and Tribunal Service to rectify…recorded delivery. With some simple tracking measures in place, there is now much more peace of mind in what can be an incredibly stressful time and the costs are minimal.
