Flexible workspace provider announces flagship opening in historic Bristol landmark

Flexible workspace operator Clockwise has announced the opening of its latest site in the heart of Bristol’s historic Waterfront Quarter.

Clockwise Bristol is a design-led workspace situated in the historic Grade II listed Generator building. Having first opened in 1899, the site was once home to the generator that powered the city’s tram system.

With extensive views of Bristol’s “floating harbour”, the new location is already receiving interest from businesses keen to take space. Pre-let contracts are already signed as local and regional companies seek work space that can offer flexibility, natural light and that has a great community atmosphere.

With over 30,000 sq ft of design-led spaces to work from, spanning over six floors, the space includes dedicated offices, private desks, event spaces, a member’s lounge and on-site café, Two Hands.

Alexandra Brunner, chief operating officer at Clockwise, said: “The creation of Clockwise Bristol in the Generator building is a new flagship site that represents the very best of our design offering.

“The space is flooded with daylight and provides extensive views of the harbour, resulting in high demand for pre-lets. All of our team are deeply rooted in the Bristol area and will drive the community spirit that we strive for at Clockwise”

London based architect firm MoreySmith was commissioned for the project with the aim of creating flexible spaces that support the physical and mental wellbeing of its members. Its design features “bright, airy spaces which help to aid circadian rhythms, increase productivity, and reduce stress”.

Alexandra concluded: “The new Bristol location helps us to supply flexible workspaces to the South West’s growing communities of SMEs and start-ups who have been relocating from traditional centralised business hubs as a result of the pandemic.”
