“Prestigious” 300 year-old Mayfair building sold in multi-million pound deal
TLT has advised on a multi-million pound sale of a rare 300 year-old “prestigious” Grade I listed freehold building located in the heart of London’s West End, further boosting the UK law firm’s position as experts in the real estate sector.
Neighbouring the famed Ritz Hotel in Mayfair, the building is a former aristocratic residence and Georgian town house, which today is used as luxury offices a stone’s throw from the capital’s most sought after venues.
TLT acted on all aspects of the sale. The team was led by Ranjeev Kumar (real estate) and Alice Gardner (corporate), and supported by Leo Wilson (real estate), Jacqui Bourke (real estate), Rebecca Chapman (real estate), Mark Braude (tax) and Andrée Parker (tax).
Reed Smith acted for the buyer. The team was led by Nav Sahota (real estate) and Gautam Bhattacharyya (commercial disputes), with the support of Josh Hogan and Nora Ling (real estate), Laura Riddeck (construction), Julia Berry (planning), Ravi Pattani and George Dunne (corporate), and Casper Fox and Alia Khan (tax).
Leo Wilson, legal director at TLT commented: “The sale of this iconic historical building is reflective of the renewed interest we’re seeing in the real estate market following the uncertainties of Brexit and the pandemic. The real estate market is slowly returning to pre-pandemic levels and the appetite for purchasing large scale luxury properties is growing.
“We’re delighted to have been given the opportunity to support on the sale of this stunning building in central London, which has enabled us to further grow our expertise in this particular area of real estate.”
