Advisory firm expands North East presence with Sunderland office launch
Specialist business advisory firm FRP is to boost its presence in the North East with the opening of a third regional office.
The national firm is expanding its footprint in the region by taking space at Sunderland City Council’s Evolve Business Centre in Houghton-le-Spring, in a move that will increase its support for clients in Sunderland and Durham.
FRP currently operates established offices in Newcastle and Teesside and employs a 30-strong team of restructuring advisory specialists in the region. The new office builds on this presence in the North East and will see eight of FRP’s employees based out of the office in Houghton-le-Spring.
The opening of the Houghton-le-Spring office is also part of FRP’s ongoing growth strategy. It follows a series of new office openings in Southampton, Cambridge, Glasgow and Milton Keynes in recent months, and increases the firm’s national footprint to a network of 25 offices.
Shaun Hudson, manager and restructuring advisory specialist at FRP in the North East, said: “Many businesses are forecasting challenging times, with supply chain disruption and increased operating costs impacting their ability to effectively bounce back from the pandemic period.
“At this critical time, we are committed to providing businesses in Sunderland and Durham with specialist business advice on patch, which is especially pleasing for me as a native Wearsider.
“The North East stands to benefit from a number of growth initiatives in the coming years, which will boost connectivity and the local economy. We look forward to supporting businesses as they build resilience and innovate, while continuing to grow our practice across the region.”
Jeremy French, chief operating officer at FRP, added: “This is an exciting time to be a part of FRP as we see increasing demand for our services across the UK. We’re expanding, recruiting and increasing our support for clients right across the UK, and that’s a result of our teams’ growing reputation for excellence and track record of delivering the highest quality service.
“We’ll continue to build on these foundations in the North East throughout 2022 and look forward to welcoming new colleagues to the team in the near future.”
