Linley & Simpson seals £4m-plus land sale deal in North Yorkshire village
A Yorkshire estate agency has completed another multi-million pound land sale deal.
The specialist Land and New Homes team at Linley & Simpson has sold a prime residential site in the picturesque North Yorkshire village of Church Fenton for more than £4m. The three-hectare parcel of land has been acquired by Holmfirth-based developers Yorkshire Country Properties, who plan to build 50 homes on the greenfield site.
David Waddington, Director of Land and New Homes, said; “This represents one of our most significant residential land sale deals in our history - and the biggest in 2022 to date.
“Given the coveted location, there was no shortage of interest amongst developers in the site, which was sold with full planning permission. Yorkshire house buyers are turning to new build in ever increasing numbers post-COVID and, amid rising energy costs, especially family homes in more rural areas.
“As this trend gathers further pace, so too will the demand among developers for land in prime locations.”
The Church Fenton sale is the latest in a long line of land deals achieved by the dedicated Land and New Homes department at Linley & Simpson across Yorkshire in the past year.
The team of seven, based in Harrogate, was crowned Best Land and New Homes department in the UK at the property industry’s “Oscars” in 2019.
It is part of the Leeds-headquartered Linley & Simpson estate agency group, which operates more than 20 High Street branches across Yorkshire and The Humber.
