This week's national appointments
This week’s round up of national appointments includes Effective Energy Group, Browne Jacobson and Russell Scanlan. Read on to find out more.

National energy efficiency and fuel poverty scheme provider, Effective Energy Group has appointed two managing directors to group companies as part of a growth plan that it says will see sales surpass £100m for the first time this year.
Dave Pearson and Dan Graby have been appointed to head Effective Energy Solutions and Effective Home respectively. Interim Effective Home managing director, Chris Cowling has also been appointed commercial director of the business.
Richard Cox, CEO of Effective Energy Group said: “Dave and Dan are starting their new jobs at an incredibly exciting period for the Group. The Government’s ECO4 scheme is on the horizon; energy reduction is a key aim for virtually every household in the country
“We’ve recently finalised the acquisition of Premier Connections, which means we can identify and help more people reduce their energy usage and hopefully play a big role in reversing the trend that has led to over six million homes slipping into fuel poverty.”
Dave Pearson joins Effective Energy Solutions from OVO Energy (formerly SSE), where he worked as ECO national commercial developer. He’d previously been business development manager at Npower and head of ECO and Green Deal for Acrobat Carbon Services.
Meanwhile, Dan Graby has moved to Effective Home from Effective Energy Solutions where he was a director. His challenge will include incorporating Premier Connections successfully into the business, while at the same time delivering a whole range of measures under ECO4 and the expansion of the business into commercial solar.
Jason Nash, Browne Jacobson
Browne Jacobson’s Financial & Professional Risks Group has appointed Jason Nash, “one of the country’s leading professional negligence lawyers”, to head up its new professional indemnity (PI) practice in Manchester.
Ranked as a leading expert by both legal directories Chambers UK and Legal 500, Jason has over 30 years’ of experience in defending claims against solicitors, accountants, surveyors, and construction professionals on behalf of many of the UK’s largest insurers and policyholders.
He joins from UK law firm BLM where he was the founder and head of its professional indemnity Manchester team. The appointment follows a period of significant and sustained growth for the firm’s Financial and Professional Risks Group which has grown by more than 60 per cent since 2018.

Independent insurance broker, Russell Scanlan, has appointed a new account executive to help manage the growth that the 140-year-old business is experiencing across its client accounts.
The long-established firm, which is based in Wellington Circus in Nottingham City Centre, has welcomed Marius Conway-Jones to its commercial team, who brings over seven years of experience in the insurance industry to the business.
In his new role, Marius will be responsible for managing client relationships and accounts, as well as looking for wider growth opportunities for the insurance broker.
On joining the team, Marius said: “I’m very excited to be taking on this new role at Russell Scanlan, it is such an established and reputational business within the industry, one that I’ve had my eyes set on for many years.
“From the moment I stepped into the building for my interview, the team has been incredibly kind and supportive, and the forward-thinking approach to broking has been like a breath of fresh air.”
Sales and marketing director, Mike Dickinson added: “We’re very pleased to have welcomed Marius as part of the Russell Scanlan team, especially during what has been a period of growth for us as a business.”
