“People Power” provides a certain solution to uncertainty with celebrated keynote Sam Conniff
A popular North East business conference will offer delegates his unique solution for an uncertain world this June – which Netflix has reported as “mind-blowing and eye-opening”.
Bestselling author and uncertainty expert Sam Conniff is a keynote speaker at People Power – the region’s leading skills, HR and productivity conference which takes place at Northumbria University on 23 June.
Sam Conniff
Sam has created “Uncertainty Experts” - the world’s first interactive live documentary scientifically proven to reduce anxiety and increase creativity. Described as a “brain-expanding experience” by Netflix, his presentation will demonstrate that someone’s tolerance (and enthusiasm) for uncertainty is key to their success.
He has recently appeared in Forbes to discuss how business managers and leaders can embrace change and turn unpredictability into opportunities for growth. “Forget Resilience, Improve Your Uncertainty Tolerance” was published in April 2022.
People Power is owned and organised by Newcastle based events company, The Projects Studio Ltd. The lead sponsor is Northumbria University, and other sponsors are NESMA, Ei4Change and Human by Leighton. The event will support North East based charity The PIE Project, which develops future career prospects and life skills of primary school children.
Sam will join a quality line-up of other guest speakers to share new thinking and innovation on people engagement and workforce development.
Other highlights this year include “ Mindset Matters: Building your teams resilience to thrive through change“ by resilience experts Alison Burgess and Cathy Lawson, and “Manhealth - Blokes, Brains, Balls and Brawn” by mental health pioneer Emily Pearson of Our Minds Work.
A very popular speaker returning to the event is Jo Darby, “The Voice in the Room”. Jo will run a session on Communicating with Confidence - for anyone who wants to speak with impact when it matters most. The session trains people how to squash their speaking gremlins, harness their nerves and engage their audience to show expertise and leave maximum impact.
Jo Darby
Prior to establishing Voice in the Room, Jo spent ten years practicing as a family and employment law barrister at Trinity Chambers in Newcastle. Before joining the Bar, she was a professional theatre director working for national and international companies, from Bristol Old Vic, to ATYP Sydney, Australia, so is highly experienced at helping others confidently craft their message and create powerful delivery when it matters most.
Event Organiser Lyndsey Morrison sums up what People Power is all about:
“We’re on a mission to help organisations build back better and adapt to the changing world of work. People Power offers ideas and inspiration from over 20 expert speakers at a conference dedicated to people, skills and productivity. Our themes this year are talent, behaviour, culture and innovation. Managers and leaders can meet and connect with hundreds of others who have an interest in developing and improving themselves, their team and their organisation.”
Conference tickets are £75+VAT which includes all training materials, resources and a working lunch.
